Which online Quran courses can you take?
The online Quran courses cover three goals: reading the Quran correctly, memorizing it, and understanding its meaning and the faith around it. Each course below has its own page with the full curriculum, levels and class structure.
Noorani Qaida
The starting point for new readers: Arabic letters, their sounds, vowel marks and joining, step by step until the student reads short words fluently.
Tajweed
The rules of correct Quran pronunciation, including Makharij (the articulation points of the letters), Ghunnah, Madd and the rules of Noon Sakinah.
Quran Recitation
Fluent reading of the Mushaf with correct rhythm and pace, building from slow, careful reading to confident, continuous recitation.
Hifz (Memorization)
Memorization of the Quran with daily new lessons and regular revision, for children and adults, on a dedicated 5-day-a-week plan.
Tafseer & Translation
The meaning of the Quran: word-by-word and verse translation in English or Urdu, followed by explanation of the context and lessons of each passage.
Quranic Arabic
Vocabulary and grammar of the Quran, so students recognize frequent words and sentence patterns and understand verses directly in Arabic.
Islamic Studies
Core beliefs, Salah, daily and Quranic duas, manners and stories from Islamic history, taught at a level suited to the student’s age.
Which Quran course should I start with?
Start with the course that matches what the student can already read: beginners who do not know the Arabic letters start with Noorani Qaida, and students who already read move to Tajweed and recitation. The usual path through the courses is:
- Cannot read Arabic letters yet: the Noorani Qaida course, until the student joins letters and reads short words.
- Reads, but with mistakes: online Tajweed classes to correct pronunciation rule by rule.
- Reads correctly, wants fluency: the Quran recitation course for steady, confident reading of longer passages.
- Reads fluently, wants to memorize: the online Hifz course, from short surahs to complete Juz.
- Wants to understand the meaning: Quran Tafseer and translation or the Quranic Arabic course.
The Islamic Studies course does not depend on reading level, so a child at any stage of reading can learn Salah and daily duas. When you are unsure of the level, the free trial settles it: the teacher hears the student read and recommends the course to begin with.
