Online Math Tutor

An online math tutor at OnlineQuran24 teaches one student at a time over a live video call, from first arithmetic facts to calculus. Kids, teens and adults work on a shared digital whiteboard in 60-minute lessons, 2 or 3 times a week, scheduled at any hour of the day in the student’s own time zone.

Which math levels does the online math tutor cover?

The online math tutor covers four stages of school mathematics, and each stage depends on the one before it. A student who struggles with algebra often has a gap in fractions or negative numbers, so the tutor teaches along this ladder instead of jumping straight to the current chapter.

  1. Arithmetic: place value, the four operations, times tables, fractions, decimals and percentages. This is the core of math for kids in primary and elementary school.
  2. Pre-algebra: negative numbers, ratio and proportion, order of operations, exponents and simple expressions. Pre-algebra turns number facts into rules that work for any number.
  3. Algebra and geometry: linear equations, inequalities, factoring, quadratics, functions and graphs, plus angles, area, volume, congruence and coordinate geometry.
  4. Trigonometry and calculus: sine, cosine and tangent, the unit circle, then limits, differentiation and integration for students in the final years of high school.

Statistics and probability run alongside these stages: averages, charts, probability trees and, at higher levels, distributions. Adults who return to math for work or a college entrance test start at whichever stage the trial shows they need.

How does the first math session find a student’s gaps?

The first math session finds gaps with a short diagnostic: the tutor asks the student to solve a few problems out loud and watches the method, not only the answer. A wrong answer on a two-step equation tells the tutor whether the error is in the algebra rule, in arithmetic with negatives, or in reading the question.

Homework help or a structured math curriculum: which fits?

Homework help suits a student who keeps up in class but gets stuck on specific problems; a structured curriculum suits a student who is behind, ahead, or preparing for an exam. Many students use both: the plan sets the direction, and part of each week is kept for school assignments.

High school math help with homework

The student brings the worksheet or textbook problem. The tutor explains the method on a similar example first, then the student solves the assigned problem. The tutor guides; the student writes the answer.

Structured curriculum

The tutor follows a topic sequence built from the diagnostic: close the gaps, then teach the grade-level content, then add exam-style practice. Each topic ends with a short check before the next one begins.

What happens in a 60-minute online math lesson?

A 60-minute online math lesson has four parts: a review, new teaching with worked examples, independent practice the tutor watches live, and a recap. A typical lesson runs like this:

Parents may sit in on their child’s math class.

How does the digital whiteboard work for math practice?

The digital whiteboard is a shared screen where the tutor and the student write on the same page at the same time. The tutor sees every line of the student’s working, so a sign error or a skipped step is caught at the moment it happens instead of on the next test.

The whiteboard holds graph grids for plotting lines and parabolas, geometry tools for drawing angles and shapes, and blank space for long division or algebraic manipulation. A student can write with a mouse, a touchscreen or a pen tablet. A student who prefers paper writes in a notebook and holds the page up to the camera.

Does the math tutor follow GCSE, A-Level, Common Core or SAT math?

Yes. The math tutor aligns lessons to the student’s school system and exam, because the same topic is taught and examined differently in each one.

Students who also study science benefit from the overlap: rearranging formulas, graphs and units are the same skills an online physics tutor builds on. Math is one of several subjects in our online academic tutoring program.

How much does online math tutoring cost?

Online math tutoring costs $80–$120 a month for 8 live 60-minute 1-on-1 lessons, depending on the level. The price rises with the level, from primary math at $10 a lesson to A-Level, AP and SAT math at $15 a lesson, and a 3-lessons-a-week plan lowers the cost per lesson by about 8%.

Primary / Elementary math

Ages 5–11 · KS1–KS2 · Grades K–5 · number sense to fractions

$80 / month

£56 · C$104 · $10.00 per lesson

  • 8 live 60-minute 1-on-1 lessons a month
  • 3 lessons/week: $110/month (£77 · C$143)

  • Follows your exam board (UK, US or IGCSE)
  • 3-day free trial before you pay

Choose the level that matches the student’s current class; the free trial confirms it before you pay. The fees and plans page lists all tutoring prices next to the Quran course plans, and the academic tutoring hub shows every subject we teach.

Families choose a male or female math tutor. Girls and sisters can learn with a female tutor only, and parents are welcome to sit in on children’s classes.

Online math tutor FAQs

Is there an online math tutor for kids?

Yes. Kids learn arithmetic, fractions and early problem solving in 1-on-1 classes with visual models on the whiteboard, and a parent may sit in on any class.

Can I get an algebra tutor online for one topic only?

Yes. A student can book classes for one topic, such as quadratic equations or graphing linear functions, and stop or continue after that topic is secure.

What do I need for an online math class?

A laptop, tablet or computer with a camera, a stable internet connection, a notebook and a pencil. A pen tablet is helpful for the whiteboard but is not required.

How many math classes per week does a student need?

Students who need homework help usually start with 2 lessons a week (8 a month); students closing gaps or preparing for an exam usually take 3 lessons a week (12 a month). The tutor recommends a plan after the free trial, and extra lessons can be requested on WhatsApp.

Can adults take online math tutoring?

Yes. Adults refresh school math, prepare for entrance tests or support their own children’s homework, in private 1-on-1 classes at any hour.

How much does an online math tutor cost?

An online math tutor costs $80 a month for primary math, $96 for middle school and GCSE / high school math, and $120 for A-Level, AP and SAT math, for 8 live 60-minute lessons. Three lessons a week cost $110, $132 or $166 a month. The 3-day free trial is free.
